University and TV architect join forces to develop new homes of the future

The ways that homes are designed and built in the future could be completely transformed, thanks to a new agreement between Northumbria University and the renowned architect, TV presenter and campaigner George Clarke. The University will work with Clarke’s charity, the Ministry of Building Innovation and Education (MOBIE), to drive innovation in designing and delivering homes for the future.

National win for Early Years Professionals Network

The Northumberland Early Years Professionals Network has won a national award for excellent practice in team development. The network exists to promote best practice in early years across Northumberland. It is run by Northumberland County Council’s Early Year’s Team, in partnership with Northumbria University, with all activities aimed at promoting the best outcomes for children.

Multidisciplinary partnership awarded ‘outstanding’ rating

Northumbria University is proud to announce that a Knowledge Transfer Partnership project, which has brought together industry and academic experts to develop a new biomedical device, has been given the highest possible rating by an independent government assessor.

Gatwick experience for engineering students

Fourteen engineering students from Northumbria University, Newcastle, have enjoyed a VIP behind-the-scenes visit to Gatwick Airport to learn how Britain’s second largest airport operates. The visit was arranged by Stewart Wingate, the Chief Executive Officer of Gatwick, who graduated from Northumbria in 1994 and continues to support his alma mater.

Kick off the festive season with Northumbria University’s Carol Service

Northumbria University will hold its annual Carol Service on Monday 10 December.
All are welcome to the free event that starts at 6pm in Newcastle Cathedral, St Nicholas Square, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 1PF.
The service will include traditional carols, performances from the University and Cathedral Choirs, and will be followed by a light festive drinks reception.
