From Consett to Canada – football coach honoured by Northumbria University

John Herdman, the coach who led the Canadian men's national football team to their first World Cup in 36 years, has been awarded an honorary degree by Northumbria University. Growing up in Consett, County Durham, Herdman first discovered his passion for coaching while studying Sport Science at the university.
