Exhibition showcases variety of technical support skills
An event showcasing projects created by Northumbria University’s technical support staff within the Faculty of Arts, Design and Social Sciences, celebrating the diversity of their skills, will run throughout December.
These specialist technicians will display pieces they have created both personally and professionally as part of a public exhibition that can be seen by visiting Northumbria’s School of Design.
The exhibition, named ‘Version 3.0’ will feature installations comprised of Fine Art, Fashion, 3D Design, Media and more, including creatively driven approaches that help inform both research and teaching within the Faculty and the University, starting on Monday 4 December.
This exhibition showcases another successful year for the ADSS programmes where students have won a string of accolades in a global awards competition which have been supported by technicians who themselves have also achieved success with several of the team being highly commended by the Papin prize awards which recognizes demonstration of excellent technical proficiency and teaching nationally.
”The technical show, Version 3.0, is a showcase for the wide range of Arts and Design technicians to display some of their works” said Keith Holmes, Technical support manager and one of the show’s organisers “This enables students, staff and the wider public to see first-hand the work of the technicians. Helping to inspire ideas and enable collaboration possibilities for the future”.
The exhibition will be open to the public and available to view between 9am and 5pm weekdays from 4 to 21 December.
