Northumbria creatives shine at Graduate Fashion Week

Final year fashion students from Northumbria University are celebrating creative success at the world’s largest showcase of up-and-coming fashion talent, Graduate Fashion Week in London.

Adam Cselotei, a third-year student from Northumbria University, has won a D&AD (Design and Art Direction) New Blood Pencil for his animation work.

Adam Cselotei, a third-year design student from Northumbria University, has won a D&AD (Design and Art Direction) New Blood Pencil for his work IMAX is the Future – a beautifully rendered conceptual science fiction themed piece exploring cinematic experience through 3D animation techniques.

The Crypt at Newcastle Cathedral will host the Story Chair in September.

Pioneering North East programme ready for national launch

Story Chair - a collaboration between national charity Changing Lives and Northumbria University - has been facilitated over the last 12 months and involved more than 50 women across Newcastle, Ashington, North Tyneside and Sunderland taking part in an eight-week programme.

Graduating artists from Northumbria University’s Fine Art programmes are preparing to showcase their work in a multi-site exhibition which includes Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art and spaces across the University’s Newcastle City Campus.

Staff and graduates from two of the fashion programmes at Northumbria University are celebrating a trio of awards as part of a vital partnership between education and industry.

Northumbria staff and students took part in a carefully curated schedule of activities which ran in parallel with the online Design for Planet Festival, embracing the key themes of the event.

Thousands tuned into inspiring programme at Design for Planet Festival

It’s just over a month since festival fever gripped Northumbria after the University partnered with the Design Council for the 2022 Design for Planet Festival. Almost 7,000 participants registered for the online event across two days in November, providing more than 40 virtual events and live broadcasts, to coincide with COP27.

Members of the multi-talented technical team in the Arts, Design and Social Sciences Faculty, will stage an exhibition of personal and professionally completed work to showcase their skills in the Foyer of CCE2.

An event aimed at celebrating the unique contributions of technical support staff, and the diversity of the work they carry out across a range of subject areas at Northumbria University, will run throughout December.
