In a special feature, we explore George's journey from a Washington council estate to becoming a leading voice for social housing reform, and discover why he is relocating his educational charity MOBIE to Sunderland, demonstrating his deep commitment to the North East's future.
Impactful outreach work by NUSTEM has been recognised as we celebrate the team receiving the prestigious William Thomson, Lord Kelvin Medal from the Institute of Physics after a decade of inspiring more than 170,000 young scientists across the North East. Fashion students secure multiple awards and industry recognition at Graduate Fashion Week. Two Northumbria graduates collaborate to develop an app to combat excessive screen-time in the UK, Ireland and USA.
Innovation continues to drive our research forward. Discover news of pioneering work using fungi and microbes to create sustainable building materials, biodegradable batteries generated from organic waste, and LED technology making advanced scientific equipment accessible and affordable.
