Celebrate the arrival of Spring 2017 with the new issue of Northumbria University News - available on campus from Monday 13 March!
This edition of the University newspaper reflects on the academic year so far and looks to the future of our constantly improving campus. Newly released artist impressions of Student Central reveal the exciting changes that Northumbria students and staff can expect to see on their return to City Campus after the summer break.
It is also a chance to preview our new STEM facilities, which are being developed thanks to a £6.7m investment. Get a glimpse of some of the new high-tech laboratories, complete with a range of bespoke equipment like the Rapid Prototyping Makerspace and improved 3D printing facilities.
Our American Studies and US History academics have been at the forefront of global commentary on Donald Trump's journey to the White House and tumultuous first weeks in office, with interviews live on Sky News, France 24, Deutsche Welle, TRT News, and specialist comment pieces in the international press. Grab a copy of the paper to read some of these expert articles covering everything from Trump’s inauguration, to predictions of what the next four presidential years will bring.
Read coverage of the spectacular black tie dinner ‘Faster, Higher, Stronger’ that was hosted earlier this month to raise money for a disability sport scheme, while honouring our medal-winning students and alumni. An impressive £92,000 was raised during the evening, which was hosted by alumnus Scott Hastings, former Scotland Rugby Union player, alongside Fabulous Flournoy, player and head coach of the Newcastle Eagles basketball team.
All this and more, available in newsstands across City & Coach Lane campuses.
You can also access a digital copy of the newspaper from Saturday 11th March at www.northumbria.ac.uk/newspaper.
